Retirement Announcement
Njeri Nuru-Holm

Dr. Njeri Nuru-Holm has announced her retirement as Vice President for Institutional Diversity, effective July 1, 2012. Dr. Nuru-Holm has had an impressive 20-year tenure here at Cleveland State University, both as a faculty member and as a senior administrator. Dr. Nuru-Holm came to CSU in 1992 from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., where she was Dean of the School of Communications. She joined CSU's Department of Speech and Hearing and served concurrently as the Vice President for Minority Affairs and Community Relations. In 1996 she was appointed Vice Provost for Student Affairs and later as Vice President for the combined functions of Student Affairs and Minority Affairs. In 2007 she was named Vice President for the office of Institutional Diversity. For the past 20 years she has been a tireless advocate for minority learning and the promotion of institutional diversity among faculty and our student body. Her longstanding commitment to these principles has been a credit to the University and she will be missed.
