Dr. Michael Horvath attended the 2023 Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) annual conference in Boston, MA from April 19 through April 22, 2023. He delivered a symposium presentation titled "FLAGS: Faculty Leaders Advancing Gender Equity in STEM" in the conference.

The SIOP annual conference is the most important yearly event for the I-O community. The objective of this conference is advancing the scientific mission of SIOP, translating scientific knowledge to tackle real-world problems in collaboration with organization leaders, communities, and policymakers, and promoting individual and organizational health and effectiveness.

Abstract:

The NSF's ADVANCE program is designed to promote gender quaity among STEM professors - a goal that I-O Psychology is well poised to facilitate. In this symposium, we provide an introduction to the NSF ADVANCE program. We then describe four universities where I-O and management professionals apply their skills to ADVANCE initiatives.
