Cleveland State University will host the second annual Careers with Social Impact Day on Wednesday, February 13th from 10:00am-1pm for current CSU students and CSU alumni.
This event includes a panel discussion, speed networking, and a networking lunch, in an effort to connect students to non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, and government agencies. It also provides employers an opportunity to screen potential candidates for active job postings. Registration is required and closes February 7th at 12pm.
Workplace expectations are shifting: more and more people in the workforce are looking to work for an entity with social impact, diversity, or economic advancement values while also earning that paycheck.
“One of Cleveland State’s – and most certainly our Career Services office – key missions is to prepare students for life after graduation and the world of work, empowering them to participate in our region’s economy,” notes Jessica Colombi, Executive Director of CSU’s Career Services Office. “This event provides signature area employers access to top talent, while helping students practice the critical skill of networking, with the intent of finding meaningful employment that also has an impact on the local, national, and global level.”
The panel discussion begins at 10am with representatives from: Medical Mutual, Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, KeyBank, Young Latino Network, United Way of Greater Cleveland, and Detroit Shoreway Community Development Corporation.
The rest of the schedule is as follows:
- 11am-12pm: Speed networking
- 12pm-1pm: Networking lunch
