Ángel graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, and was a research scholar as part of the post-baccalaureate research education program at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). He obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from CWRU and did a post-doctoral fellowship at Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic. Ángel has been an active member of academic and professional organizations focused on professional development, engagement, and advocacy. He is excited for the opportunity to contribute to the development of a diverse group of future Ph.Ds., bringing together the resources needed to support the McNair Scholars in their academic pursuits.
