Budapest Semesters in Math
Hungary has a long tradition of excellence in mathematics education. However, because of the language barrier, students have not been able to take advantage of the skill and dedication of the mathematics faculties of Hungarian universities. St. Olaf's College offers an intensive semester or year in Math that bridges this gap. This program is designed for Math majors.
Breathtaking, thrilling, fascinating, exciting, graceful, and friendly are among the adjectives frequently used to describe Budapest. With its incredible classical imperial architecture, rich cultural heritage, beautiful setting, marvelous panoramic views and lively arts, café and music scene, Hungary's capital deserves its reputation as the Pearl of the Danube. The Hungarian capital is exquisitely laid out on both sides of the Danube, with the river flowing through the center dividing Buda on the west bank and Pest and Obuda on the east bank. The ancient city of Obuda was united with Buda and Pest in 1873 to form the city of Budapest as we know it today. Budapest has excellent public transportation and an abundance of theaters, concert halls, opera, museums, art galleries and thermal spas. It is the perfect location for a truly rewarding study abroad experience.
