Understand the practical and conceptual aspects that are critical to the grant development process. Learn how to get started writing successful proposals, developing a viable project plan, identifying and assessing relevant prospects, and crafting an initial approach to funders.


About the Presenter

Irwin imagePeggy Irwin is Grant Writer/Administrator for CSU’s College of Sciences and Health Professions, securing and stewarding grants and gifts to advance research, education and community service programs.  Peggy previously served as Director of Foundation Relations for Cleveland Botanical Garden, supporting a $54M capital campaign. She has over 30 years of experience in higher education, health care, museums and the corporate sector with a particular focus on coordinating complex grants in STEM. Peggy holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in biological anthropology from Western Washington University, and certificate in fundraising from CWRU’s Mandel Center and Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.

 Workshops are provided at no charge to CSU students and alumni, courtesy of the Graduate Student Resource Center and College of Graduate Studies.
