GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR COURSE APPROVAL

In order to create a new general education course or add a general education designation to an existing course, faculty must submit the course for approval in Curriculog, CSU’s online curriculum management system. The approval process, estimated time for approval, and deadlines can be found on the Curriculum Approvals and Processes webpage from the Office of Academic Planning. Curriculog user guides and support from the Office of the University Registrar can be found on the Curriculum Management webpage.

  1. Consult the Criteria Sheets to determine which you need to submit. Please note that with the exception of WAC, SPAC, and Capstone courses, courses may only be approved in one area.
  2. Complete the relevant Criteria Sheets and respond to the questions on each. You will attach these files to the Curriculog proposal.
  3. Prepare a current syllabus (that includes a statement of the criteria for the category for which you are submitting your course) as you will attach it to the Curriculog proposal too.
  4. Originate the Curriculog proposal at https://csuohio.curriculog.com/
