The Washkewicz College of Engineering has a long and rich tradition of cutting-edge research. With ties to such organizations as the NASA-Glenn Research Center and the Cleveland Clinic, support from and collaboration with federal agencies, such as NSF, NIH, NASA, and others, research foundations and industry, faculty and students perform top-level research that leads to the discovery of new knowledge as well as to innovation with the development of new products and processes.

The College has seen a significant increase of external funding, with three NSF-CAREER grants awarded to our faculty in the past few years, a three-fold increase in the external research funding received for graduate students, and multiple major research instrumentation NSF awards; research collaborations among our faculty and between our faculty and colleagues from other CSU Colleges (and other institutions) have increased remarkably.
