Dream of Home

Dream of HomeDream of Home is about how we remember, seek, and create home, celebrating connections to our past heritage and sharing culture with the brader community. This work-in-progress production features Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi ensemble artists perfrming their own personal stories. Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi is a Cleveland Public Theatre new project by, for, and with Arabic-speaking communities. The ensemble of artists is open to all people who share a heritage from Arabic-speaking cultures and a curiosity and passion for theatre. Generous support provided by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art. The program is bilingual, presented in English and Arabic. The show was created by the Ensemble, Raymond Bobgan, and Faye Hargate. Directed by Raymond Bobgan.

One of our current Biomedical Master’s students, Haneen Yehya, is a member of the Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi Ensemble. The full ensemble includes: Abbas Alhilali, Issam Boudiab, Jamal Julia Boudiab, Ebaa Boudiab, Hussein Ghareeb, Omar Kurdi, Manar Yared, and Haneed Yehya.

The show is running November 30 and December 1 at the Cleveland Public Theatre at 6 PM. Tickets are $15. There will be preshow music and catering as well as postshow music and dancing.
