Black history month 2021

black history month 2021 programming and events

Lift Up Vikes!: Each Wednesday, the student staff of LUV! will be sharing a different person they researched and their important impact on Instagram. They’ll specifically be looking to post about influential Black leaders in Cleveland. LUVs Instagram account is: @CSU_LUVikes

CARE: We are also doing a virtual celebration on our Instagram Account (@CSUCARE). Throughout February we’ll post things related to care and self-care, while focusing on influential Black poets, authors, etc. We’re starting today, Langston Hughes’s Birthday.

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

Anticipated Activities:

Courage Has No Color  will be a month long event that provides three speakers (Feb 1st, 8th, and 15th), a video with the Black Student Union, open ended prompts and educational posts on social media on the unsung heroes that broke barriers locally and in the United States. There will be many opportunities for students to win prizes, from black businesses, as well!

Description: Join CAB as we showcase Black History Month by creating a conversation with the use of speakers, an interview with a fantastic CSU organization, and promoting the unsung heroes that broke barriers locally and in the United States.

Prizes: Students will have a chance to win prizes (gift cards and merchandise from black owned businesses) if the participant is on social media and attending the speaker events.
