Diversity Achievements

CSU has received significant honors from both local and national entities, recognizing the university’s exemplary diversity and inclusion initiatives and ability to embrace a broad definition of diversity on campus. Cleveland State University is a leader in the state in enrolling and graduating minority students and is a top producer of African American masters graduates. Since 2011, Cleveland State University has been recognized for progress in creating, enhancing and sustaining our diversity and inclusion strategies. 

Twice a recipient of the annual Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award (HEED) award, a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion, Cleveland State University has been featured in two issues of INSIGHT into Diversity, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

Cleveland State University has also been selected by the Commission on Economic Inclusion (a program of the Greater Cleveland Partnership) to receive the Best In Class award for “Senior Management Diversity”. Cleveland State has received this recognition three times, and has subsequently been inducted into the Commission on Economic Inclusion’s Hall of Fame.
