Accommodations for Placement Tests
Most incoming freshmen will be required to take the Math Placement Test and some will take the English Placement Test. Some students, including those who received testing and other accommodations in high school, may require accommodations to take these exams, such as extended time for taking the exam, assistive technology and/or testing in a distraction free environment.
The process for obtaining accommodations for a disability for placement exams is easy. Students should first register online with the Office of Disability Services. Directions can be found on ODS’ For Prospective Students page. During the registration process, students can indicate that they require accommodations for placement testing. Once students are registered with ODS, they will be contacted by a Disability Specialist to set up accommodations for the placement exam(s). This is necessary if you are requesting time extensions on the placement exam.
Visit the Testing Center Placement Testing to see if you will be required to take the Placement Tests. On their webpages they have the criteria for ACT and SAT scores to enter into Math and English courses at CSU.
