Health Disparities Professional Certificates

Patient-Centered Care Certificate Patient-Centered Care Certificate content is delivered in a blended format. Learners study one module each week at their own pace, followed by a weekly facilitator-led 90-minute group discussion via Zoom classroom.

Certificate in Higher Education Teaching The Certificate in Higher Education Teaching at Cleveland State University is designed to help junior faculty, teaching assistants, and practitioners new to teaching refine their pedagogical strategies and increase their instructional effectiveness. We are committed to offering non-credit programming that meets rigorous standards for quality and service. Courses are CSWMFT approved for clinical social worker CEUS, mental health counselor CEUS, professional counselor CEUS, and Marriage & Family Therapist CEUS. In addition, CSU courses are OPA approved for psychologist CEUS.

Leadership Academy for Public Sector Professionals The Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs Leadership Academy is the premier public sector leadership development program in the region and we are proud to celebrate over 30 years of service.
Public Management Academy (PMA) The Public Management Academy (PMA) is a comprehensive management development certificate program for public managers. It professionalizes public managers as they learn and practice the management skills and tools they will need to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Women's Leadership Series The Women’s Leadership Series was created to engage and empower public & nonprofit sector leaders throughout Northeast Ohio.

Nursing and Health Related Professional Development

RN & LPN Refresher This focused in-person program will update your nursing knowledge and clinical understanding in only 6 weeks, whether it be to move to a new position or return to employment in nursing. Five days of didactic class instruction and 4 days of hands-on skills review in the CSU Nursing Resource Lab (NRL).
Patient Advocacy (online) Increase your knowledge and enhance your ability to advocate for your clients while you prepare for the Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) examination, the only U.S. nationally-recognized Patient Advocacy certification.
Diabetes Education Program Designed for health practitioners without specific diabetes skills or training within the last five years, this comprehensive course also serves as a beneficial review for the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) designation and preparation for those considering certification.
Community Health Worker Certification Cleveland State University's Community Health Worker program, offered since 2016, is certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The program is appropriate for anyone interested in an entry-level position in health care who would like to make a difference in the health of their community.
