Baldwin Wallace University has a long history of providing arts education and outreach to the greater Cleveland community including presenting hundreds of dance, music and theatre performances; art exhibitions; and major festivals, many of which are free and open to the public.
Building on 40 years of intergenerational learning, the BW Community Music School strives to enrich lives by providing experiences that promote lifelong engagement with music. The Community Music School offers music and arts education for students of all ages from infant to retiree.
The Community Music School offers a full array of instrumental and choral ensembles, private lesson instruction, group classes and summer music programs for middle school, high school and adult students.
The New Horizons Program was started at the Eastman School of Music in 1991 and now has more than 100 programs in the United States and Canada. BW’s New Horizons offers adults the opportunity to learn to play an instrument (strings, woodwind, brass or percussion). This is perfect for adults who have never had the opportunity to play an instrument or for those who played during their school days but have not had the opportunity since. We offer bands (beginning, intermediate and advanced levels), jazz band, string orchestras (beginning, intermediate and advanced levels) and chamber music ensembles.
