Neighborhood Connections supports a diverse network of people committed to Cleveland neighborhoods and brings people together regularly through the Neighbor Up events. The organizing premise is that de-humanizing systems are reinforcing and exacerbating the fear and isolation that diminish us as humans and divide us as a community. Neighborhood Connections cultivates environments that:

  • bring people together across lines of difference
  • create a web of collaboration and exchange
  • and encourage residents from different neighborhoods, as well as institutional leaders, to work together to respond innovatively to the challenges that plague our communities.

There are now 2,000 card-carrying members of Neighbor Up working to improve the quality of life in our city and make change towards a more just, equitable and inclusive Greater Cleveland. When Neighbor Up members gather, they use small activities — called “practices” — that prime the room for positivity, feed people’s energy, and unleash the capacity for creative solutions to issues that plague our communities. The result is greater civic engagement. To see Neighbor Up stories go to: http://www.neighborhoodgrants.org/category/neighbor-up-blog/

Neighborhood Connections offers small grants to groups of residents in Cleveland and East Cleveland to do projects that improve the quality of life in their communities. For more information go to http://www.neighborhoodgrants.org/grants/
