Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program - Transfer Application

Application form for transfer students to CSU (first term of enrollment at CSU Spring or Fall 2024)

Who Can Apply?

To be considered, you must: 

  • Be a new Cleveland State University (CSU) student, enrolled full time starting in Spring or Fall 2024
  • Be an Ohio resident 
  • Have an undergraduate degree plan for an eligible STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) major 
  • Have a commitment to COF program requirements 
  • Have a current FAFSA on file with Financial Aid (https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
  • Not already be receiving a full tuition scholarship 
  • Have a transfer GPA of at least a 3.25 (*Note some programs may require higher entrance criteria)

*The Choose Ohio First program is only for students pursuing a first time undergraduate degree. Post-baccalaureate students are ineligible for this program.

General Program Requirements: 

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in an eligible STEM major  (Typically 15 credit hours per semester)
  • Participate in required cohort activities (i.e.- meetings, poster sessions, etc.) 
  • Meet with assigned advisor at least once a semester  
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher 
  • Make progress toward an eligible STEM degree 
  • Participate in a work-based experience (internship, co-op, research)
  • Have a 4-year graduation plan approved by your major advisor (exceptions may be made for dual majors, students participating in a co-op, etc.)
