The Center for eLearning is marching for best practices this spring! Join us at our March events to learn some of the best practices used daily by Faculty and the eLearning team to provide quality online education at CSU. You can register for any of our events listed below!

Please use the links below to see details for our March for Best Practices events. You may particpate in as many events as you like, but please note that APPQMR and FOTD will max out at 15 and 25 participants respectively. You can register for events today, but keep in mind that registration for the APPQMR and FOTD will be first come first serve!

March 8th: Blackboard Best Practices User Group Faculty Panel

This faculty panel will share from their own experiences and discuss best practices in teaching and learning online. Please join us in Bonda Board Room, UR 254 for this engaging panel discussion. Lunch will be provided for those who register by Friday, March 2nd.  Panelists include:

March 11-18th: Faculty Online Teaching and Design Course (FOTD)

This facilitated online course provides an orientation to teaching online at Cleveland State and focuses on best practices for designing an online course. Participants will gain hands-on experiences in organizing a course and developing a learning module. This is a one-week accelerated offering. Prior participants have said this was also a great opportunity to have an experience as an online student! You can find further detail on this course at the FOTD webpage.



March 22nd: Roundtable Faculty Discussion

Join your colleagues for roundtable discussions on topics relevant to online learning. This discussion will take place in Mather Mansion 113 and will include the following topics: 

  • Engaging Students Online 
  • Using Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor 
  • Quality Matters and YOU
  • How an Instructional Designer can Help Improve Your Online Course
  • Utilizing Open Education Resources
  • Tips for New Online Instructors. 

Lunch will be provided for those who register by Friday, March 16th.



March 23rd: Applying the QM Rubric (APPQMR)

This workshop explores the Quality Matters (QM) program and prepares participants to become certified QM Peer Reviewers. Participants will become familiar with QM standards and participate in a practice peer course review of an online course using the review tools. You can find further detail on this course at the APPQMR webpage.
