Each semester we provide our students with an opportunity to prepare for employment as they complete their education and training and enter the teaching profession. Our career day is split into two sessions: a morning and an afternoon session.
The morning session includes speakers that will review resume writing, interviewing, applying for licensure through ODE, and substituting. We also include alumni speakers and current teacher/administrator speakers as well.
In the afternoon, we organize a small career fair featuring area school districts, giving our students an opportunity to make contacts and connections with potential employers. We specifically reach out to districts that work with us in an attempt to reciprocate the generosity they have shown to the university. The goal is to give districts direct access to our graduating students and assist with their hiring process.
We encourage all of our students, from all licensure areas, to attend each semester. This includes Practicum/Internship 1 students, who are still one semester away from graduating.
Our Fall 2019 Career Day will take place Friday November 22, 2019 from 8:30a-3p in the Fenn Tower Ballroom. More details will be released in September.
