The Ohio Urban Principal Endorsement for Practicing School Administrators
A competency-based leadership development program approved by the Ohio Department of Education
The Urban Principal Endorsement Program provides:
- Five (5) standards-based collaborative seminars over five months
- On-site reflection and meetings with an assessment team using performance rubrics to ascertain successful standards and program completion
Participants will observe, question, practice, reflect, apply, and create an implementation plan to execute in their school districts.
Participants must hold a standard Ohio principal license or certificate. Successful completion of this graduate-level program leads to the Urban Principal Endorsement that can be added to a standard Ohio principal license or certificate. The endorsement shall be valid for the same ages and grade levels as the principal's license or certificate that is held by the candidate obtaining the endorsement.
This leadership development program requires attendance at each of the five (5) monthly Saturday seminars at Cleveland State University's main campus (January - May) from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., in addition to meeting with the assessment team.
2020 Required Saturday Seminar Dates:
- January 18
- February 22
- March 21
- April 25
- May 30
The cost of the program is $2,750, which includes all course materials and lunch at each seminar.
The next cohort begins January 2020 at CSU's main campus. Apply by completing an application; please include a copy of your active principal's license. Email the application and license copy to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 15, 2019.
