Deadline for Scholarship Applications is May 1st, 2016.
This is the fifteenth year that we have initiated this award as a way to recognize master’s level students in the counseling program who are committed to the profession because of important life experiences and/or leadership roles that have influenced their choice to enter the counseling profession.
Scholarship Application Forms are available in our Counseling Department Office, JH 281.
The Award is $1900.00 given for the academic year (Fall/Spring, 2015-2016) to be applied to any counseling course.
The Daniel D. Drake Endowment Fund Memorial Scholarship Awards will be announced in December, 2015.
Welcome to our new department chair,
Dr. Justin Perry!
Dr. Perry joined the CASAL Department in 2006 as a faculty member in the Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education programs. In 2010 he was appointed as the first Director of the Center for Urban Education, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011. Over the past nine years, Dr. Perry has collaborated with faculty, staff, and students across an array of different departments and offices at the university. In his various roles at CSU, he has forged new partnerships with non-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, and K-12 schools in Northeast Ohio to advance research, student success, and community engagement initiatives. Dr. Perry is a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio and serves on the Board of Directors at Esperanza, Inc. His areas of expertise focus on the practical applications of college and career readiness, positive youth development, child psychotherapy, intervention research, and program evaluation.
