Professional Staff

​​​​​​Kimberly S. Springer (she/her/hers) is the Director of Campus Engagement at Cleveland State University. A Cleveland native, she received her undergraduate degree in history with a minor in international affairs from Tuskegee University and completed a master's degree in adult learning and development from Cleveland State University. In her current role, Kimberly advises the Student Government Association, chairs the General Fee Advisory Committee and oversees the entire Center for Campus Engagement.  

Springer’s various professional experiences within higher education have allowed her to support students of color while also cultivating inclusive environments for all students, faculty and staff. In her previous roles she was able to identify best practices and provide vision and expertise in the area of cultural- and identity-based services, community engagement and partnership building. 

Her current professional and academic interests include mentorship within communities of color, the higher education experiences of second-generation Americans of the African diaspora, and student activism. She is passionate about several social justice issues and how to build coalitions across communities.

Samantha Broaddus (she/her/hers) is the Assistant Director for Campus Engagement in the Center for Student Involvement.  Samantha has received bachelor's degrees in both English and Pan-African Studies, as well as a M.Ed. in Cultural Foundations from Kent State University.  In her role, she is responsible for creating programming, initiatives and events, managing student organizations, collaborating with campus and community partners and advising the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC).  Prior to her current role, Samantha served as a Senior Admissions Counselor and a Graduation Success Coach at Cleveland State University.

Daniel Lenhart (he/him/his), Student Media & Web Specialist, oversees activities of CSU’s currently registered student organizations, assists students in creating new organizations, training of all organization officers and advisors, is the system administrator for VikesConnect and manages all communications, including the weekly Viking Newsletter, divisional websites, social media and student center digital signage.  

Dan earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Bowling Green State University in 1984 and his MBA from Cleveland State University in 1994. He has worked at CSU in student affairs since 1995, first starting in Career Services as the engineering co-op coordinator. Dan also hosts his own radio show every Friday morning on WCSB 89.3fm and in his spare time enjoys his family (including five cats), bird watching and collecting die cast cars.

Micaela Ostheimer serves as the Coordinator for Student Involvement within the Center for Campus Engagement. Micaela oversees and advises the Fraternity & Sorority Life community at CSU, leads leadership development programming from campus engagement, and assists with hazing prevention and education. Micaela is a two time graduate of Cleveland State University with degrees in Speech and Hearing (B.A. ’16) and Adult Learning and Development, specializing in Higher Education (M.Ed ’19). In addition to her work in Campus Engagement, she is also an instructor of Intro to University Life or ASC 101.

Graduate Assistants

Taylor LoveTaylor Love (she/her/hers) Taylor attended Ohio Northern University for undergrad with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Currently a Graduate Student at CSU majoring in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her professional interests in her field include working with children and adults experiencing a variety of issues such as depression, grief, and trauma-related care. Halima Akintolu

Halima Akintolu A current graduate student pursuing her graduate study in Business Administration. Halima had her first degree in Adult Education and Political Science from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The computational and administrative knowledge she acquired in college positioned her to work in various capacities where her skills were further honed. She has worked in the Human Resources function and successfully handled Talent Acquisition, Managed Payroll, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Diversity, and inclusion, Business Partnering, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, People Audit, and general administrative roles in the organizations where she worked. 

She is happy to be part of the CSU Campus Engagement team where she’s looking forward to learning, unlearning, and re-learning particularly in an enabling environment where she will further develop her skills. She enjoys spending her free time with her family. She is an introverted extrovert!
