Victor Alexander

Executive Vice President, Corporate Treasury, KeyCorp and Member of Executive Council, KeyCorp

Victor Alexander is Executive Vice President and Corporate Treasurer for KeyCorp, a $140B regional bank headquartered in Cleveland. Victor and his team are responsible for managing Key’s capital, liquidity, funding, interest rate risk and overall balance sheet management strategies.

Previously, Victor led Key’s Corporate Strategy team, where he partnered with Key’s executive leadership team to shape the Company’s long-term strategic vision. The Corporate Strategy team facilitated the strategic planning process, provided substantive perspectives on business initiatives, and proactively identified and managed acquisition, divestiture and partnership opportunities for Key.

In October 2015, KeyCorp announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement under which KeyCorp will acquire First Niagara Financial Group, a $40B regional bank with operations throughout the mid-Atlantic. Victor led Key’s due diligence effort and presented frequently to Key’s leadership team and Board of Directors as they evaluated what would be the largest acquisition in the Bank’s 200-year history. Post-announcement, Victor co-led the merger integration transition leadership team for Key, overseeing the integration of a $1.4B business into Key and managing nearly $700 million in one-time merger expenses.

Before Corporate Strategy, Victor held roles of increasing responsibilities in KeyBanc Capital Markets, including Vice President in the Industrial group of the Corporate & Investment Bank. He has eight years of investment banking and financial advisory experience, focused on buy-side and sell-side merger and acquisition transactions, corporate divestitures, and equity and debt issuances for public and private industrial clients.

Prior to joining KeyBanc Capital Markets, Victor worked as a summer consultant in the Industrial Group at Boston Consulting Group.

Victor received a B.S. in Finance and Economics, summa cum laude, from John Carroll University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors and is Chair of the Investment Committee at Julie Billiart School, a catholic grade school serving more than 120 students with special learning needs from across Northeast Ohio. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Zoological Association. Victor and his wife Abby reside in Richfield with their two children.
