Academic Achievement

Is your semester GPA 3.25 or better?

Academic honors are a way for the University to note your success. Students acheiving a semester GPA of 3.25 or above may fall into one or more of the following categories and be acknowledged accordingly.

President's List: Semester GPA is 3.9 or above, taking 15 credit hours

  • Calculated on course work for which grades of A through F are given.
  • Credit earned in a course for which the grade of Satisfactory is achieved are not counted as part of the 15 semester-credit hour minimum.
  • The determination of who has made the President's List is made by the Registrar's office. A list of those who have achieved this distinction is sent to the President's office no sooner than one month after the end of the semester.
  • Acknowledgement of this achievement is up to the sole discretion of the President's office.

Dean's List: Semester GPA is 3.25 or above, taking 12 credit hours

  • Calculated on course work for which grades of A through F are given.
  • Credit earned in a course for which the grade of Satisfactory is achieved are not counted as part of the 15 semester-credit hour minimum for full-time status.
  • The determination of who has made the Dean's List is made by the Registrar's office. A list of those who have achieved this distinction is sent to each college's office no sooner than one month after the end of the semester.
  • Each academic college acknowledges Dean's list recipients differently. The College of Business has traditionally sent a certificate one to two montes after the semester in which the Dean's List distinction was earned. The certificate will go to the place of residence listed in CampusNet at the time that the Registrar's office sends the list to the College.

Graduation Honors: Cumulative GPA is 3.3 or above at graduation

  • 3.30 to 3.59: Cum Laude
  • 3.60 to 3.79 Magna Cum Laude
  • 3.80 to 4.00 Summa Cum Laude
