Director, Bernie Moreno Center for Sales Excellence
A native of Cleveland, Kenny Koblitz is a sales and marketing consultant to manufacturers and distributors in the specialty chemical industry as well as the retired Vice President of Sales for DEB and the retired Director of Recruiting, Hiring and Training at Zep Manufacturing. In 2015-2016, he served as Executive in Residence at The State University of New York at Fredonia where he taught courses in basic sales and mentored students. He joined the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University in October 2016.
He retired from DEB, a worldwide manufacturer of skin care products which introduced foaming hand soap to the commercial marketing in 2010. Prior to that, in 1990 he created a successful recruiting, hiring and training program for sales professionals at Zep Manufacturing, a worldwide manufacturer of specialty chemical products for a wide variety of industrial, institutional and retail customers. From 1990 to 2000, that program produced 750 new sales people in North America for the company.
He was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Americo Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of nonwoven abrasives and vinyl-backed entrance matts. During his ten-year tenure at Americo, sales grew from approximately $4 million to $25 million. During that time, he began consulting with distributor customers on marketing, recruiting, hiring and training sales people. As a result, Kenny developed a motivational training program entitled "The Gears of Selling". He holds the copyright for the program and it sold over 400 units.
Kenny began his career at Zep Manufacturing, as Sales Representative to Atlanta City, and was promoted to City Sales Manager, Georgia District Sales Manager and Southeastern Sales Manager. In 1974 he became the Sales Manager of Aladdin Products, a Zep subsidiary and was tasked with integrating the sales forces of Aladdin and Zep.
Kenny graduated from Shaker Heights High School and Ohio State University. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served two years of active duty followed by six additional years in the Air Force Reserve.
