KeyBank Leadership & Creativity Undergraduate Minority Student Symposium

Krystal RiveraTwo Cleveland State students have been selected to participate in The KeyBank Leadership and Creativity Undergraduate Minority Student Symposium on November 14th through 17th 2019. 

The annual symposium selects top undergraduate students, specifically from under-represented minority groups with a grade point average of 3.0 or above. The selection is highly competitive. The average GPA of selected participants is above a 3.4 and also takes into account extracurricular activities, leadership attributes and more.

Karina MoraSelected to represent Cleveland State were Senior Krystal Rivera and Junior Karina Mora. Both are Accounting majors, Glasscock scholars and not originally from Cleveland.

Anne Nelson, Assistant Dean of Student Services recommended students and helped with the completion of applications for the symposium. "The college faculty and staff are very pleased that both Krystal and Karina were selected for this honor," she said. "The application and selection process is highly competitive and to have two students selected is wonderful for CSU. It was my pleasure to work with the business students." 

The three-day Symposium will provide a competitive forum of workshops for skill building in the following areas:

  • Leadership training
  • Creativity and the power of creative thinking
  • Product innovation and new product development
  • Spreadsheet management and analysis
  • Entrepreneurial theory and practice
  • Persuasive communication
