Gerald (Jerry) JarzabekGerald (Jerry) Jarzabek is passionate about preparing his clients for changes in the market. He was recently interviewed by CNBC addressing market volatility specifically for those who are near retirement. In the February 2018 article, Jerry cautions clients that there may be a 5 to 10% correction after 2017’s stock market gains and first quarter 2018 changes in interest rates.

“It is very important to know what you own,” advises Jerry. “Investors should be able to clearly articulate why investments are in their portfolio. If you don’t have a good reason for owning something, you should strongly consider eliminating it from your portfolio.”

A Senior Vice President of Private Wealth Management with Baird in Cleveland, Ohio, Jerry is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA). He provides a wide variety of services to his clients.

He began his professional Finance career in 1993 after graduating from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

“I was very fortunate to have a number of outstanding professors while at CSU,” said Jerry. “Ed Thomas, Mike Polomsky, Sandy Jacobs and Mike Wells all made an positive impact on me.”

Jerry is very involved in the Northeast Ohio business community. He is a past President of the Rotary Club of Cleveland, Cleveland Rotary Foundation and Old Stone Foundation.

He serves as a trustee at Marymount Healthcare Systems on the Finance committee, as a member of the Monte Ahuja College of Business Alumni Board, a member of the Advisory Board for the Finance Department and has been a frequent guest speaker in Finance classes at Cleveland State.

A lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, he is also an avid runner and completed numerous marathons, including the Boston Marathon.
