As the daughter of a Special Olympics coach and a school principal, Cortney C. Crockett always knew she wanted to be in a role where she could help people.

And her job at the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority gives her that opportunity.

She said she enjoys being able to work with residents, especially the young people whose families are seeking housing.

Outside of work, Crockett continues to actively give back. She serves on the boards of organizations like ICA Art Conservation and Ohio City Inc. and spends time volunteering for groups like Harvest for Hunger and Habitat for Humanity.

She also mentors youth and draws on her athletic inclinations to raise money.

Last year, Crockett completed an Ironman Triathlon — a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a full marathon — to raise money for cancer research in honor of her grandparents.
