Beta Alpha Psi Semi-Finalist for 2018 Ethics Award

Beta Alpha PsiIn January of 2018, the Cleveland State University Delta Psi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi was named as one of ten chapters nationally to be a semi-finalist for The Ethics Award.

The Ethics Award, sponsored by Grant Thornton awards Beta Alpha Psi chapters that encourage members and their surrounding communities to develop a solid ethical foundation and empowers them to act on these principles.

Chapters submit initial proposals and if selected to move forward, chapters must submit a written summary describing the outcomes and overall assessment of the project. Four chapters are then selected to be national award winners.

To become the semi-finalist for the Ethics Award, the CSU Beta Alpha Psi chapter submitted a plan to host an Inaugural Intercollegiate Ethics Case Competition, to be held on Saturday, April 14th on the Cleveland State University campus. After the competition, the CSU team will provide a final submission discussing the outcomes and lessons learned. Finalists will be announced at the annual Beta Alpha Psi meeting.

"The judges were impressed with your plans," said Margaret Fiorentino, Executive Director, Beta Alpha Psi. "They were able to see the impact that it could have on your chapter and those in your community."

The Intercollegiate Ethics Case Competition will feature an original case developed and written by Dr. Craig L. Foltin and Dr. Mark Holtzblatt, both of the Accounting Department.

CSU's Beta Alpha Psi team has started to invite undergraduate and graduate level accounting, finance and information systems students from the Northeast Ohio Region to participate in the Intercollegiate Ethics Case Competition.
