Bridging cultures and cultivating business opportunities come as second nature for James. A 25-year veteran of global business, James spent 10 years living and working in Asia on multiple expatriate assignments and has strategically grown companies ranging in size from $10 million to over $1 billion in revenue.

James founded The Domingo Group LLC in 2010 to help organizations with global strategy, market entry, channel partner selection and development, regulatory compliance, talent acquisition, and strategic procurement. In 2013 the company added direct exports and wholesale distribution to its capabilities.

Customers include industrial manufacturers and service contractors, commercial appliance manufacturers, medical technology firms, standards and regulatory agencies, and IT services firms on four continents. Projects have ranged from basic consulting to comprehensive overseas market entry.

Prior to starting The Domingo Group, James served as president of Swagelok Japan where he developed an organization of over 350 associates. While in Japan he combined seven independent distributorships into a single corporate entity. He served on the board of directors of the new company, launched in 2009, ensuring a successful start. His 20-year corporate career spanned a variety of roles including mechanical engineer, product manager, technology center manager (Japan), business development manager, regional manager, and representative director / president of Swagelok Japan Inc.

In addition to working with commercial entities, James also enjoys speaking to universities, economic development organizations, and chambers of commerce. James serves on Boards of Directors at WIRE-Net and Promise Partners, as well as the Weatherhead Alumni Advisory Council. James holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo. His language capabilities include Japanese, as well as Mandarin Chinese studied at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
