Ohio Attorney General's Office Special Agent to Visit on April 8, 2019

Seal of the Ohio Attorney GeneralOn Monday, April 8th, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM in LB 0242, all Cleveland State University students are welcome to attend Dennis Medica's Fraud Examination class to hear from Arvin E. ClarSpecial Agent with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

As a Special Agent with BCI, Arvin Clar assumes the responsibility for conducting overt as well as covert criminal investigations, performs various tasks in the field, such as subject, victim and witness interviewing. Special Agent Clar also serves as liaison to, and works in cooperation with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies;  provides courtroom evidence; testifies in court; confers with prosecuting attorneys and assists in the training of new Special Agents with BCI.

Bureau of Criminal InvestigationPrior to joining BCI, Arvin served with the Cleveland Police Department for over 29 years, where he held the assignment as a detective in the Financial Crimes Unit.  Arvin was responsible for the investigations of thousands of financial crime cases and prepared and presented these cases for state and federal prosecution. He also served as an assistant Vice President for Charter One Bank, served as the Bank Protection Coordinator for over 17 years, and oversaw the safety and investigation of fraud issues of 750 banking branches throughout five states.

Arvin serves as a Certified Fraud Examiner and currently serves on the Northeast Ohio Chapter CFE Board.
