Welcome back! I hope summer provided lovely memories and much rest. Here are a listing of services for your students in WAC courses–Writing Center services and workshops you can schedule for them.

Brief Introduction to the Writing Center

This 5-minute presentation by one of the tutors in the Writing Center provides your students with information regarding our services:

• scheduled 30-minute tutorials in RT 105
• drop-in tutorials in RT 105
• phone tutorials (drop off a paper and schedule a phone conference)
• handouts
• 2-credit hour courses (English 105/106) comprised of 9 tutorials and
• 8 workshops
• plenty of books and style manuals on writing

Selecting a Workshop for Your Students’ Needs

Below are two lists: what you see and what students need. If you would like one of these particular workshops (30 minutes or a full class period), please call the director at 6982.

What You See	Workshops They Might Need
You read the paper twice, and still can’t figure out the point	Focus, Transition, Coherence
You see only Internet sites and few substantial library sources	Gathering Research at a College Level
You worry that they are not handling sources well	Quoting/Paraphrasing/Citation
