Professor Awarded Honorary Degree

Professor Roberta Steinbacher was presented with an honorary degree.

The Board of Trustees of Cleveland State University has voted to honor Professor Roberta Steinbacher with a Distinguished Emerita Faculty Honorary Degree at its Commencement ceremony on Sunday, December 13, 2015.  In the letter to Professor Steinbacher from President Ronald M. Berkman announcing the award, he describes the the Trustees’ motivation.
 
“The University seeks to award you this degree in recognition of your extraordinary service as a faculty member, scholar, administrator, researcher and teacher at Cleveland State University.  Your accomplishments have improved the lives and status of women in Northeast Ohio exponentially and countless other students and individuals worldwide have benefitted from your outreach, community engagement and scholarship.  Many have been forever impacted by the mentoring, compassion and wisdom that you have handed down over the years and we would like to recognize that as well as honor your dedicated service to CSU, the community and our students.”
 
The honorary degree was presented to Professor Steinbacher at the Commencement ceremony, which was held at the Wolstein Center.
