Mary Beckenbach is the Administrative Assistant to Roberta Steinbacher, Ph.D., Professor of Urban Studies in the College of Urban Affairs.
Mary is President of the Cleveland Institute of Music Women’s committee having also been a board member for the past 20 years. She is also an ex-Officio member of the Board of Trustees at the Cleveland Institute of Music For the past 12 years Mary has served as an elected official of the Village of Bratenahl, serving as President of Council during this time, and chair of the Legislative Committee, Public Safety Committee, Public Improvements Committee and the Community Affairs Committee. She is also involved with residents and Councilpersons of Cleveland’s Ward 10 to enhance the safety and welfare of the residents.
Her love of the arts also keeps her involved at the Community of St. Peter, where she is chair of the Arts Committee, offering private tours of Cleveland Institutions, such as Lakeview Cemetery’s Wade Chapel, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s sacred works of art, and the InterMuseum Conservation Association and bringing local artists to exhibit their works and to events to share with the Community each year.
Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University and graduated Cum Laude with a Master Degree in Special Education from Kent State University.
