AGNES MOONEY HOSKIN (1980 BA)

Director of Agency Services, Cleveland Foodbank

Agnes Mooney Hoskin has dedicated her life’s work to human service and community work. She began her career as coordinator of Clergy and Laity Concerned, Cleveland, an international, interfaith organization working on behalf of peace and justice. Ms. Hoskin has served as associate director of Women’s Concerns for the Commission on Catholic Community Action, and in 1987 Bishop Anthony M. Pilla appointed her to the Office on Women in Church and Society, the first office of its kind in the country. Other positions of interest include the West Side Women’s Center, St. Augustine Manor and the Federation of Catholic Community Services, and The MetroHealth System’s Maternity and Infant Health Care Program. In her current role, she is the chief liaison between the Foodbank and its partner agencies.

Many agencies and committees have benefited from her dedication and expertise including the Cuyahoga County Advisory Board of Homeless Services, The Community of Saint Malachi, and the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless (NEOCH). Ms. Hoskin has been honored for her achievements in service to others through the Irish American Archives Society’s “Walks of Life” Award in 2001 and the M. Elleen Shaughnessy Jarc Achievement Award from Saint Augustine Academy in 2002. She is also a former recipient of Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs’s John C. Little Award.
