Coordinated Foundations
Cleveland State University is fortunate to be located in one of the most philanthropic cities in the United States. It is important that the University present a unified face to local foundations when requesting funding for specific programs and activities. With this in mind, President Michael Schwartz and Vice President of Advancement William Spiker have developed a list of five "Coordinated Foundations" that have specific criteria and processing requirements for proposal submission.
As of January 1, 2005, the Coordinated Foundations are: The Cleveland and Gund Foundations, The George Gund Foundation The Kulas Foundation, The Murphy Foundation, and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. Proposals submitted to these foundations must first have the explicit, written approval of the University President, and must have first been approved by the Vice President of University Advancement and the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research.
