2010 Performances

The Elephant Man
By Bernard Pomerance; Directed by Everett Quinton
July 8 – August 5

“The Elephant Man” is the profound and touching true story of John Merrick, a man hideously deformed since birth. Under the care of a brilliant and ambitious young doctor, Merrick transforms from a sensational object of pity to a sensitive and intelligent man. Those around him come to know his beautiful spirit within, and in the process, discover their own hidden flaws. “The Elephant Man” questions the ideas of perception and what it means to be truly beautiful.

Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feeling so Sad
By Arthur Kopit; Directed by Scott Spence
July 9 – August 6

Madame Rosepettle is fabulously wealthy; she travels around the world according to her fancy, dragging along her neurotic son, an endless fit of luggage, and the body of her deceased husband. Having arrived at a Caribbean resort, she sets her sights on Commodore Roseabove--even as her stuttering and increasingly hysterical son falls prey to the attentions of Rosalie, an attractive young woman with the instincts of a snake. But as it happens, Madame is not so much interested in seducing the commodore as she is masculating whatever man happens to find her attractive, and so far as Rosalie is concerned... well, let's just say that it isn't going to work out as Rosalie expects.

Curtains
Based on the original book and concept by Peter Stone
Book by Rupert Holmes; Lyrics by Fred Ebb; Music by John Kander; Directed by Dr. Michael L. Mauldin
July 10 – August 8

Curtains  is musical send-up of backstage murder mystery plots, set in 1959 Boston, Massachusetts and follows the fallout when the supremely untalented star of Robbin' Hood of the Old West is murdered during her opening night curtain call. Can a police detective who moonlights as a musical theater fan save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love before the show reopens, without getting killed himself?

All shows run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm, except as noted.
