Join Captain Tempest when he finds his ship stranded on planet D'Illyria, inhabited by the mysterious Dr. Prospero, his daughter Miranda, and his robot servant, Ariel. Interweaving many of the greatest songs of the fifties and sixties like "Good Vibrations" and "Great Balls of Fire" with the classic sci-fi film The Forbidden Planet and Shakespeare's The Tempest, Return to the Forbidden Planet is sure to delight fans of last year's hit Two Gentlemen of Verona. Directed by Summer Stages Artistic Director Dr. Michael L. Mauldin. (Director: The Robber Bridegroom, Sandor Turai: Rough Crossing)
Winner of both the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play in 1977, The Shadow Box shows the lives of three vastly different families all forced to face an imminent death. Directed by Summer Stages favorite Everett Quinton (Director: Dark of the Moon, Dvornichek: Rough Crossing)
Convalescing in Yalta, preeminent dramatist Anton Chekhov is descended upon by the Moscow Art Theatre, including co-founders Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko, as well as love interest and MAT actress Olga Knipper. Far from a dry historic reenaction, Chekhov in Yalta is a breakneck comedy, complete with ribald farce and madcap misunderstandings.
