The Center for Leadership and Service

Awards and Scholarships

2007-08 SGA President, Blake Almaguer, presenting during 2008 Leadership Accolades

The Center for Leadership and Service recognizes students in a variety of ways. Awards and scholarships are granted to individuals and student organizations at the end of each academic year. The Center hosts the annual invitation-only Leadership & Service Accolades Banquet to recognize student participants and present select awards. The term “accolades” refers to a ceremonial embrace, and we host this event as an expression of our gratitude and pride for our student leaders.

The Student Organization Leadership Award recognizes the CSU student organization with the highest participation in student leadership programs.

The Student Organization Service Award recognizes the CSU student organization with the highest participation in volunteer/service programs benefiting the community.

The CSU Alumni Leadership Scholarship and the J. Maurice Struchen Leadership and Service Scholarships recognize student leaders with outstanding involvement both on campus and in the community through volunteer/service activities.

The Kappa Delta Omicron Paul Putman Award recognizes a student leader with outstanding achievement in campus and community service.

Students completing service and leadership development components become Certified Student Leaders.

Students who participate in the Viking Volunteer Challenge are recognized for outstanding participation in volunteer/service activities.

Student keynote speakers are selected each year for the Leadership & Service Accolades programs.
