What is it?
The University Research Council (URC) has observed a need among faculty members for consultation and expert advice in statistical and research methodology. Therefore, University Research Council has
created a statistical mentoring network
for CSU researchers. The Statistical Mentoring Program (StaMP) makes the collective statistical expertise of CSU faculty and staff available to colleagues who would appreciate such consultation.
How do I use it?
Faculty interested in using StaMP should contact a Mentor directly. If you are unsure about whom to contact, please contact Christine Sell (x3625), who will help determine the most likely match between participant needs and Mentor expertise. StaMP participants will be asked to evaluate the Program and the helpfulness of the Mentor(s)' assistance.
What are the benefits?
Developing researchers will benefit from having expert advice on design and implementation of their research projects. Mentors and mentees will both benefit because these interactions will provide them with opportunities for possible research collaboration, new ideas about their own research agenda, and/or, at the very least, opportunities to meet other researchers. The University as a whole also benefits because the program will help create a helpful and supportive environment in which academic research and scholarship can thrive.
