Families came to the Cleveland State University Recreation Center for our first ever Summer Kick-off Carnival, Saturday, June 13th. This grand event showcased all of our family friendly programs including: fitness classes, sports and games, pool fun, family nutrition, and Summer Camp crafts.
Of course all this fun was set to a carnival theme with side show entertainment, food, and fun. Besides getting FREE access to our facility for the day, meeting our wonderful staff, and being entertained by all the amazing carnival games and entertainment, this event was a fundraiser for a great Cleveland charity, Stand Up for Kids.
We will be contacting the winners of the raffle this week. Please check back to the our web site for event photos and information about future events and programming. Thanks for Kicking off an awesome summer at our first ever Summer Kick-off Carnival.
Please help us in raising money for our Roof Top Garden project. Green Roofs add decades of life to buildings/roofs, filter pollutants from storm water (which benefits the entire city and Lake Erie), adds aesthetic value to the building, creates a place to become ENGAGED in learning, a place to host functions or classes, and reduces the cost of heating and cooling by tremendous percentages!
To learn more about the project please visit Raising the Roof! on the College of Science web page. Donations can be made at the recreation center and everyone who donates will be eligible to win a one year membership to the Recreation Center!
