The Cleveland State University Recreation Center offers a first class recreation facility to individuals and families of Cleveland State University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Want to host an event? The CSU Recreation Center has the capability to hold basketball and volleyball tournaments along with many other different types of events.
Both pools will be closed Monday, January 16th starting at 3pm-8pm due to a swim meet.
As a reminder, the recreation center will be open from 5:45am-9pm on Monday, January 16th in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
As the apex of the holiday season approaches, we want to make you aware of some new facility modifications. As Cleveland State University continues to strategize for the future of the university, the decision has been made to close on Monday, December 26th and Saturday, December 31st to help provide financial support for the university. These dates were identified to have the smallest impact on our facility and patrons as daily attendance has historically been extremely low. We apologize for any inconvenience these new closures may have, but in keeping with the spirit of the holiday season, we encourage you to enjoy this time with family and friends. Happy holidays and Happy New Year!
We've certainly been spoiled with warmer-than-average temps recently - and who could forget the balmy-by-comparison winter we had last year!? But as winter begins settling in around Cleveland, remember there is always a chance that extreme inclement weather or hazardously cold temperatures may impact the CSU Rec Center. This may result is delayed openings, early closings, or full-day closures. Always keep a watchful eye to our website or social media channels for the latest updates. Our website and social media channels (particularly Facebook and Twitter) are the best places to get the most up-to-date and timely notifications for these types of closures and hours modifications. In addition, email notifications will also always be sent out as another way to spread the word when it is deemed necessary to close or modify hours.
We never want to close unexpectedly and we understand it can be a frustrating inconvenience when it happens - we never make the decision lightly. However, please know that if or when it does happen, the decision is made with everyone's best interests in mind to ensure your safety. Fingers crossed for an easy winter again this year!
