Greg Ross

Greg Ross has been at the Rec Center since its grand opening. He transferred from Kent in 2006 to work as Director of the Rec Center. Under his leadership the Rec has increased its attendance each year and expanded its equipment and program offerings. He hopes to continue to meet the needs of CSU students and grow the facility every year. When he's not in his office, Greg can be seen shooting hoops on one of the basketball courts or cheering on the Buckeyes, Indians and Browns.

Nick Froelich

Associate Director, Facilites & Operations | 216-802-3253

Nick Froelich is quite familiar with recreation services – it's given him the opportunity to travel around the country and develop his skills in various jobs. But when an opportunity arose in Cleveland, he took it as a chance to come back home to Ohio. Nick currently works as the Associate Director of Facilities and Operations at the Rec Center. The position allows him to work on a college campus and interact with students on a daily basis. When he's not at work, you can find him spending time with his family, pouring over his fantasy sports franchises, traveling, playing golf or rooting on the Red Sox, Buckeyes, Vikings, Cavs, and Browns.

Kim Rottet

Associate Director, Programs | 216-802-3255

Kim Rottet is in her third year in Ohio and the Rec Center. Kim has worked in a variety of recreation service positions around the country, and is currently the Associate Director of Programs at the Rec. Her favorite part of her job is being able to teach students and watch them learn outside of the classroom. When she's not at work, she enjoys reading and learning to be a skilled cook. Even though she's allergic to almost everything outdoors, Kim also enjoys hiking, bike riding and being outside as much as possible.

Joe Stolitza

Joe Stolitza has been working at the Rec Center almost since its opening. He was hired as Business Manager six months after the facility opened. Joe – a.k.a. Joe Money – handles all the financial and human resources aspects of the Rec. He enjoys working on the variety of tasks his job brings and hopes to put in place solid business practices to meet the changing dynamics of the Rec. One of his favorite parts of working here is watching how the Rec constantly updates itself and keeps up with current fitness and wellness trends. Joe enjoys golfing and cycling in his spare time.

Michelle Rieger

Assistant Director, Aquatics & Fitness | 216 802-3258

Michelle Rieger is a brand-new addition to the Rec Center team. As Aquatics Coordinator, she is responsible for improving and maintaining the pool and its programs. In her time with the Rec Center she hopes to increase the number of community members and students enrolled in aquatics programs. In addition, she's working on improving the aesthetics of the pool area to be a better representation of the Rec Center and CSU. When she isn't at the Rec Center she enjoys traveling anywhere warm with plenty of wet to do watersports such as paddleboarding, waterskiing and scuba.

Katie Robinson

Assistant Director, Member & Guest Services | 216-802-3208

Katie Robinson has worked in various capacities at the Rec Center. After starting as a marketing intern in 2009, she has worked her way up to the role of Assistant Director of Member & Guest Services. She loves working with her student staff and watching them grow and develop in their various positions. She hopes to continue to improve training programs while creating a strong staff dynamic. As a certified volleyball official, Katie enjoys officiating boys/girls high school, Junior Olympics, and adult sand/indoor volleyball leagues. When she’s not on the stand officiating, she enjoys competing in her sand/indoor volleyball leagues in her spare time, along with taking yoga classes and working out.

Mike Weaver

Assistant Director, Facilities | 216-802-3257

When the position of Facilities Coordinator opened up at the Rec Center, Mike Weaver pounced on the opportunity. After working as Graduate Supervisor of Facilities for two years, he was excited to move up into this position. His goal is to expand the Adventure Rec program by creating more trips, as well as possibly one day getting a rock wall built inside the Rec. When he's not at the office, Mike is active in a variety of sports and bowls competitively

Matt Schmiedl

Marketing & Technology Coordinator | 216-802-3251

After graduating from Cleveland State with a Bachelor's degree in graphic design in 2006, he started work at Penton Media in Downtown Cleveland doing graphic design for the Buyers Guides division. In October of 2008, he moved to Meister Media Worldwide in Willoughby, OH, continuing with graphic design and marketing. Following a nearly five-year tenure with Meister, Matt joined the Rec Center in August 2013. In addition to putting his creativity to use in his work, Matt loves to write and record his own music, cooking and painting in his free time.

Jason Mandula

Member & Guest Services Coordinator | 216-802-3209

Jason Mandula began his career at the Recreation Center as a Rec Attendant. During his two years here, he quickly moved up into a Membership Representative and after he graduated became the Graduate Supervisor of Marketing & Membership. After recieving his Master's Degree in May he was offered the position of Membership & Guest Services Coordinator. His favorite part of his job is interacting with patrons and getting to know them on a personal level. Jason's goal is to improve inventory in the Pro Shop to cater to patrons' needs, as well as streamline processes at the front desk for members. He views the Recreation Center as an open and cohesive environment that allows all the employees to work together. Jason is an avid cook and also enjoys playing cards, reading and participating in sports.

Kelly Mozena

Competitive Sports and Camps Coordinator | 216-523-7369

As the Competitive Sports and Camps Coordinator, Kelly, works with Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, and Youth Programming. She loves working with students on a daily basis and she hopes to continue to improve the programs she oversees. Kelly came to Cleveland State University after working for a year at Ashland University where she also received her master’s degree In Sport Management. As a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Kelly enjoys being active. She also loves a good competition playing sports and both board and card games.

Melissa Albers

Fitness and Wellness Coordinator | 216-802-3256

Melissa Albers joined the CSU Campus Recreation Services team in May 2014 after graduating with her Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Kentucky. Melissa is responsible for the direct oversight of the fitness and wellness programs including group fitness, personal training, instructional programs, nutrition, and massage therapy. She hopes to provide more opportunities for students to get involved in the fitness and wellness programming and increase the amount of student instructors and personal trainers at the Rec. When she is not at the Rec, you can find her rooting on the Cleveland Browns, going on adventures, or trying out local CLE eateries. Originally from the Cleveland area she is happy to call CLE her home once again.

Brian Boesch

Building Maintenance Manager | 216-802-3257

Brian Boesch is one of the first people to arrive at the Recreation Center every morning. As Building Maintenance Manager, Brian arrives before sunrise to ensure the facility is up and running before it opens each day. With more than 30 years experience in the maintenance industry, Brian is very skilled at his job. His favorite part of working at the Recreation Center is working with the young student staff. He enjoys training and teaching the staff new things that they may not learn elsewhere. Brian believes the facility has a progressed a lot in the past two years, and he would like to see the Recreation Center continue to bring in good quality staff members who are eager to learn and work. Brian also works for the Lake Erie Monsters and attends many hockey games in his spare time.

Cassie Bishop

Graduate Supervisor - Competitive Sports & Camps | 216-802-3205

Cassie Bishop is in her first year of Campus Recreation as the Competitive Sports and Camps Graduate Assistant. Cassie graduated with a degree in Sports management from the University of Akron then went on to work and intern with several professional sports teams including the Columbus Bluejackets, before making the switch to campus rec. When Cassie is not in the office she enjoys playing rugby and taking time to travel.

Courtney Maddock

Graduate Supervisor - Aquatics & Safety | 216-802-3259

Courtney has been involved with Campus Recreration throughout her collegiate career. Starting as a lifeguard, she has worked her way up in the Aquatics department becoming a Supervisor and in the summer of 2014 she was offered a job as the Graduate Supervisor of Aquatics and Safety. A former Division 1 athlete, Courtney stays active and loves to work out. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Sports Management. When not at the Rec she loves to compete in triathlons and stay moving.

Amy Breslin

Amy Breslin is an Office Manager at the Recreation Center. Amy began working at the Recreation Center in 2012 as a Swim Instructor. Although she now works in the office, Amy is still very passionate about the Learn to Swim program and hopes to increase enrollment and retention rates for the program. Amy received a bachelor's degree in Biology from Ashland University, but decided to make a switch to Campus Recreation. She believes the CSU Recreation Center is one of the best-managed facilities in the area, and she enjoys working alongside all her co-workers. Amy is a new mother and spends a majority of her time with her family. When she gets a few moments of free time, she enjoys photography and scuba diving.
