Visitor Parking Information

General Information

Parking may be purchased in the following locations, based upon availability:

  • Lot A - meters (A, #72)
  • Lot AA (AA, #90)
  • Lot S3A (S3A, #12)
  • East Garage (EG)
  • West Garage (WG)
  • South Garage (SG)
  • The Central Garage (CG) after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends.

Payment Options

  1. Cash accepted at attendant booth for visitor and special event parking.
    Current visitor rate: $6.00

  2. Cash in Coins meters accept cash only. Generally, CSU meters are priced at $0.50 per 30 minute period. Some meters have a maximum time limit of two hours.

  3. Single Use, Any Day access for a single calendar day as a visitor; not accepted for special event parking. Designed as a scratch off pass upon which the user identifies the calendar day for use. There is no expiration date for unused single use, any day passes. Generally, this option is recommended for individuals who need the convenience of a pre paid pass and intend to park on campus for a pre-arranged meeting. Current price: $6.00. May be purchased by contacting the Parking Services Department, 216.687.2023, during regular business hours.
  4. CSU Parking Services now offers a CSU Cultural Events Parking Coupon. Created as a means to promote cultural events on campus, this prepaid coupon program reflects a $2 discount per park off regular CSU event parking rates. A booklet of 5 coupons is valid for five separate parks at CSU cultural events. The coupons are available to all guests and visitors who wish to attend scheduled cultural events on campus. A coupon booklet sells for $20 and can be ordered by calling CSU Parking Services at 216.687.2023.

Refunds and Receipts

Parking Services makes every effort to only collect payment for visitor parking if spaces are available in the specific parking facility. If you are unable to locate a parking spot within the facility for which you paid, you may proceed to a different lot which accepts visitor parking.

Parking Services does not issue retail-type receipts for parking. Individuals are to be issued a ticket to be placed on the vehicle’s dashboard in clear view. This ticket is date specific and is valued at $6.

Due to the volume of patrons involved, there are no refunds offered for special event parking

Escort Service

Individuals are encouraged to use CSU escort service by calling 216.687.2020 from your cell phone when traversing between parking and your campus destination.

Motorist Assistance

Individuals are encouraged to contact CSU Police at 216.687.2020 to request motorist assistance.

Special Event Parking Information

Events

Special event rates will be posted; in the absence of a special event rate the Visitor rate will be assessed.
NOTE: Additional on-campus parking may be offered for a specific event. Please refer inquiries to the event sponsor (e.g. College of Music, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics or Wolstein Center)

Receipts and Refunds

  • Art Gallery - Individuals attending a gallery show are welcome to park in Lot S1 (54) with entry from East 24th Street just north of Chester Avenue or theEast Garage (EG) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street. CSU Pre Paid and Must Pay tags will be honored on performance dates. All others will be charged the Visitor rate - currently $6. CSU Parking Services now offers a CSU Cultural Events Parking Coupon.   • Bert L. and Iris S. Wolstein Center – Formerly known as Convocation Center; individuals attending special events are encouraged to park in the South Garage (SG) with entrance on East 21st Street or the West Garage (WG) with entrance from East 17th Street between Chester and Euclid Avenues. Designated parking for vehicles displaying a State of Ohio disability placard is provided on the Center’s Drive, which is located on the north side of the facility with entry from Prospect Avenue at East 18th Street. Pedestrian drop off is recommended from the Center’s Drive or from the curb lane, south side of Prospect Avenue between East 18th and East 21st Street.
  • Cole Center for Continuing Education – Individuals attending a reserved event are encouraged to park in Lot AA (AA, #90) with entry from East 30th Street between Chester and Euclid Avenues.
  • Factory Theater  located in the Theater Arts Building at 1833 East 23rd Street -  individuals attending a performance are welcome to park in Lot S1 (54) with entry from East 24th Street just north of Chester Avenue or the East Garage (EG) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street.  CSU Pre Paid and Must Pay tags will be honored on performance dates.  All others will be charged the Visitor rate - currently $6.   • Krenzler Field, Magala Tennis Facility, baseball fields – Individuals attending a competitive, reserved or special event are encouraged to park in Lot S3A (S3A, #12) with entry from northbound East 22nd Street or West Garage (WG) with entry from East 17th Street between Chester and Euclid Avenues. Pedestrian drop off is encouraged on the curb land, north side of Chester Avenue between East 21st and East 18th Streets.
  • Men’s and Women’s Basketball games – In addition to the campus lots listed above for the Wolstein Center, the Parking Services department will enter into agreements with lots privately operated in the area for members of Big Green.
  • Natatorium - Individuals attending a competitive, reserved or special event are encouraged to park in East Garage (EG) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street. Pedestrian drop off is recommended from the curb lane on East 24th Street just north of Euclid Avenue or on the curb lane, south side of Chester Avenue at East 24th Street. From either location, pedestrians will then proceed to the entrance of the Physical Education Building which is on the pedestrian mall on East 24th Street.
  • Recreation Center - Individuals attending a special event are encouraged to park in the Rec Garage (meters only) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 24th Street or the East Garage with entry from curb lane, eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street. Pedestrian drop off is recommended on the curb lane, south side of Chester Avenue at East 24th Street.
  • Waetjen Auditorium and Drinko Hall - Individuals attending special events are encouraged to park in Central Garage (CG) with entrances on southbound East 19th Street and southbound East 21st Street from Chester Avenue or the West Garage (WG) with entrance from East 17th Street between Euclid and Chester avenues. Designated parking for vehicles displaying a State of Ohio disability placard is provided in Lot C, which is located on Euclid Avenue just west of East 21st Street with entry from Euclid Avenue. Pedestrian drop off is recommended from curb lane on southwest corner of East 21st Street and Euclid Avenue intersection. CSU Parking Services now offers a CSU Cultural Events Parking Coupon. Created as a means to promote cultural events on campus, this prepaid coupon program reflects a $2 discount per park off regular CSU event parking rates. A booklet of 5 coupons is valid for five separate parks at CSU cultural events. The coupons are available to all guests and visitors who wish to attend scheduled cultural events on campus.   • Woodling Gymnasium - Individuals attending a competitive, reserved or special event are encouraged to park in East Garage (EG) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street. Pedestrian drop off is recommended from the curb lane on East 24th Street just north of Euclid Avenue or on the curb lane, south side of Chester Avenue at East 24th Street. From either location, pedestrians will then proceed to the entrance of the Physical Education Building which is on the pedestrian mall on East 24th Street.
  • Other - Please refer to the campus map to determine which General visitor parking location will be most convenient for you.
Prearranged Department Guests

University departments are able to request prior arrangements for select guests with the Parking Services department depending on the date and time of the scheduled visit. Requests for prearranged parking must be received via fax in the Parking Services Office no less than two (2) business days prior to the visit, due to the level of use demonstrated by students, faculty and staff. Click here to download Department Parking request form. Generally, these arrangements are prepaid by the university department for access to a Visitor parking location.

Individuals hosted by a specific department may anticipate parking instructions will be provided by the university host.

In the absence of prearranged parking, a department guests is encouraged to review the visitor parking information.

Other Established Visitor Arrangements

Admissions Guests - There are four (4) complimentary parking spots located in Lot U (U, #20) for new undergraduate students and/or transfer undergraduate students who are visiting campus to meet with Admissions staff.  Additionally, prospective students will be provided with program specific information from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Graduate Admissions or the College of Law.

Athletic Camps and Events - Individuals are encouraged to review the information about the specific facility in use, provided under Events, or contact the Athletic Department directly.

Bookstore- Individuals are encouraged to review the information about the specific facility in use, provided under Events, or contact the Athletic Department directly.

Campus Activities Board and student organizations
-Individuals visiting campus to attend an educational, entertainment, recreational or social event sponsored by a student organization are encouraged to review the information about the specific facility in use, provided under Events.

Department of Speech & Hearing - Iindividuals visiting campus for a screening provided by students from the Department of Speech & Hearing may park in Lot G, which is located under the Main Classroom Building.

Division of Continuing Education - Individuals, who are enrolled in a CE course and not eligible for a CSU VikingCard, may purchase parking in Lot AA (AA, #90) for $5/park, based upon availability. If an individual enrolled in a CE course is eligible for a CSU VikingCard, he/she is encouraged to register the vehicle with the Parking Services department and gain a complimentary Must Pay parking registration tag which allows him/her to park at the CSU rate of $4.

Elements Restaurant - Individuals visiting Elements a bistro on Euclid, which is located at 2300 Euclid Avenue, are encouraged to use the meters in Lot A or purchase parking in the East Garage (EG).

Orientation Participants - incoming undergraduate students and their families will be provided with program specific information from the Orientation Programs Office regarding the parking to be offered.
