Fall Semester 2012 introduced a brand new way to park on campus. “Proximity based” parking means that the type of hangtag you purchase determines where you may park on campus.
Hangtags are priced based on the parking access they provide relative to the parking location’s proximity to the core of campus. Parking patrons will have two options:
PLEASE NOTE: To reduce long lines at the Parking Office, All Parking hangtag purchases must be made via your campusnet account!.

CSU Students
Cleveland State University students, faculty and staff who are concurrently enrolled at the Youngstown State University, University of Akron, Kent State University or NEOMED - and have purchased a current prepaid parking hangtag from CSU Parking & Transportation Services - are eligible for reciprocal parking benefits by requesting a YACK sticker. To obtain your YACK sticker from CSU Parking & Transportation Services, bring your current prepaid hangtag, current schedule indicating the class at the participating University and CSU Viking ID Card to the Parking Office (EC 160). The rights and privileges assigned to the tag are honored in the parking areas of the participating institutions. YACK stickers are valid only on prepaid semester or annual hangtags (not on any single day credential e.g., a scratch off). Please visit the website of the University you will be attending for detail parking instruction for YACK sticker participants.
Non-CSU Students
A student who is enrolled at Youngstown State University, University of Akron, Kent State University or NEOMED - and has a current student prepaid parking hangtag from that campus - is eligible for reciprocal parking benefits at Cleveland State University. To register for the YACK program, please obtain your YACK sticker from the institution that issued the parking hangtag. The rights and privileges assigned to the hangtag are honored in the parking areas of the participating institutions. YACK stickers will permit parking in any prepaid parking location on campus. Please note that YACK stickers are not available for use on prepaid Daily Usage/Scratch-off hangtags. Parking hangtags are not valid for use in South Garage (SG), Prospect Garage (PG) at parking meters or in Lot 22 (SC) at PayStation spaces. Parking in these areas without payment will result in a parking citation.
Visit the CSU Parking & Transportation Services website for full information at www.csuohio.edu/parking.
A patron who purchases a prepaid parking hangtag and subsequently withdraws from classes or ceases employment at CSU for any reason is required to return their parking hangtag in order to request a refund from the Department of Parking & Transportation Services. A $10 administrative fee will be deducted from all prorated refund amounts.
In order to control the use of CSU owned and operated parking spaces, only current students and employees are permitted to use CSU Prepaid hangtags to park on campus. Individuals who are not enrolled or employed by CSU and found parking on campus using a prepaid hangtag will have the hangtag confiscated and will not be eligible for any refund. These individuals may also be subject to fines.
No refund request will be granted unless all outstanding fines and fees are paid in full. Student refunds will be posted to the Student’s account.
Scratch off hangtags are eligible for refund to the original owner for the original price. Scratch off hangtags must be returned 30 days prior to the expiration date for a full refund.
Prorated refund amounts will be based on both the purchase amount and the week in which the prepaid hangtag is returned. (A week is defined as beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. The week will be established on the Sunday of that week regardless of the actual day of the week the returned hangtag is received.) The $10 adminstrative fee on hangtag refunds will be suspended for Fall 2012.
Refunds requested by Friday of the 2nd week of classes will be refunded at 100% of the purchase amount and will not require proof of a change in status.
Refunds requested after the Friday of the 2nd week of classes will be prorated based on the purchase amount and the date the hangtag is returned.
Refund requests that are made after the last day to withdraw from classes each semester will need to be accompanied by proof of a change in student or employment status. The refund amount will be prorated based on the purchase amount and the date the hangtag is returned.
Refunds requested within two weeks of the effective date will be refunded at 100% of the purchase amount and will not require proof of a change in status.
Refund requests made after the 2-week grace period must be accompanied by proof of a change in employment status. For Annual Hangtags that were paid in full, the refund amount will be prorated based on the purchase amount and the date the hangtag is returned. For Annual Hangtags being purchased by Payroll Deduction, proof of change of employment status will be required in order for Payroll Deductions to be halted.
