  • Discipline
    Check with your academic advisors and department administrators about scholarships and awards within a specific discipline such as Psychology and the health professions.
  • Choose Ohio First
    A state-funded scholarship aimed at graduating more students in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEM). Currently, CSU offers six different Choose Ohio First programs, including Success in Mathematics for which most COSHP undergraduates are eligible (deadline for Fall 2014: 3/18/2014); Bioscience and Healthcare (deadline for Fall 2014: 4/30/2014); and Pre-Health Professions (deadline for fall 2014 is 8/1/2014).
  • Ohio Academy of Science
    A professional organization that promotes awards and scholarships for science students in Ohio. Visit http://www.ohiosci.org/.
  • Financial Aid
    A vast majority of CSU students receive financial assistance through grants, loans and federal work-study. For more information, please contact allin1@csuohio.edu or visit the Office of Financial Aid or

 

Undergraduate scholarships in the College of Sciences and Health Professions
Applications for the 2014-2015 academic year are currently being accepted on-line and are due no later than May 1 at 11:59 pm. Recipients will be notified by August 1.

Scholarships Currently Available

  • DiCorleto Family Endowed Scholarship for Outstanding Student Athletes in Science
    Supports an outstanding student athlete who is pursuing a degree in science. Preference is given to students from the Cleveland Municipal School District.
  • The Irene Frangos Endowed Scholarship
    Awards to undergraduates in COSHP pursuing a degree in medical research, biomedical research, or focused on the cause and cure of leukemia or cancer. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.
  • Leah S. Gary Endowed Scholarship
    Awards to a major in COSHP with demonstrated financial need and academic merit (minimum University G.P.A. of 2.5). Preference shall also be given to students from the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood in Cleveland or socially and economically disadvantaged students.
  • Sersig/Brandt Family Endowed Scholarship
    Awards to juniors or seniors pursuing a major leading to a career teaching science, or in the biological or health sciences. Preference is not given to students in physical or occupational therapy, nursing, or speech and hearing. Selection is based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need.
  • John and Florence Vitullo Endowed Scholarship
    Awards to undergraduates in COSHP with demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to biology majors or students interested in research.
