Valedictorian and Outstanding Students Recognized

Posted on May 18, 2009

The Academic Standards Committee of the College of Science recently met to decide upon a College of Science Valedictorian. Based upon academic record, scholarly activity, and community service, the committee has selected Jonathan Schilens  (Mathematics major with an Education minor) as the Spring 2009 College of Science Valedictorian. We were also thrilled to find out that Jonathan has also been selected as University Valedictorian.

The Committee also felt that several additional students were deserving of recognition. Thus, the following have been selected as Spring 2009 College of Science Outstanding Seniors:

Khadidja Benmerzouga  (dual major Chemistry and Biology)
    Jessica Newell  (Psychology)
Kai Ng  (Mathematics major and Computer Information Science minor)
Kathryn Scheel  (Biology major and Chemistry minor)

As has become our tradition, the College of Science hosted a luncheon/reception in honor of these students and their accomplishments.
