Forty (40) credit hours are required for graduation from the program. Required courses are PSY 511, an advanced statistics course (PSY 611 or COM 531), and a thesis (PSY 699). Other coursework required for the degree will be dictated by the individual student’s long–term goals and must be approved by the Experimental Research Program Committee. (Course may include Social Psychology, Group Dynamics, Learning Memory and Cognition, Biological Basis of Behavior, etc.) A student is expected to involve his or her mentor/advisor in the course selection process so that course work is well suited to the student’s objectives. A normal course load is 12 to 16 credits per semester.
“I became interested in experimental psychology because I wanted to be involved in the first step of the discovery process. That to me is the level at which the most important work is done. As of right now I am beginning work on my thesis, and my studies at CSU have really helped to point me in the right direction”
Timothy Patrick (current CSU ERP student)
