Additionally, the DMP faculty assists students in choosing between a thesis, action research or comprehensive exams as their exit requirement, depending upon their career goals.
Certificate program students take all but three of the courses, participate in the practicum and earn continuing education credits.
The program is structured executive MBA-style, in a three-day sequence once monthly, with a rigorous schedule of reading and paper writing as part of the coursework. Most courses are team-taught and the student teacher ratio is roughly 1 to 5. The practicum and thesis are done in the second year of the program. Both the master's degree and the certificate can be completed in 18-20 months.
