Prerequisites: PHY241/243, MTH181-182; Corequisite: MTH-281.
Textbook: Halliday, Resnick, Walker, Fundamentals of Physics, Parts 3 and 4.
The subject of the course is Electricity, Magnetism and Optics.

Part of the course is a group project in the Physics Dpt Computer Lab SI-117A. We will work nontrivial problems in Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics by using MathCad. Bring a diskette to save your work. The computer project will be done during the second hour of the lecture on the following dates:
Some of you have signed for the writing version of University Physics II which is called PHY244. The writing is graded as pass or fail. If you pass, the grade is determined by exams, quizzes, homework, labs as explained above. If you fail the writing component then you fail the course. You will write three essays:
