The degree requirements, in addition to College of Graduate Studies requirements for the master’s degree, consist of the completion of 32 credit hours distributed as follows:
Required Core (16 credits)
MTH 553 Algebra with Applications (4 credits)
MTH 580 Geometry from an Advanced Viewpoint (4 credits)
and two of the following:
MTH 542 Continuous Mathematical Models (4 credits)
MTH 547 Calculus from an Advanced Viewpoint (4 credits)
MTH 564 Statistics and Data Analysis (4 credits)
Electives (16 credits)
MTH 513 Linear Algebra with Geometry (4 credits)
MTH 518 Technology in Teaching (4 credits)
MTH 532 Probabilistic Models (4 credits)
MTH 539 Discrete Mathematics (4 credits)
MTH 542, MTH 547, or MTH 564 if not used to satisfy core requirements (4 credits each)
MTH 581 Chaos and Fractals (4 credits)
MTH 593 Special Topics in Mathematics (4 credits)
Any other approved mathematics courses at or above the 500-level.
